Where it stacks on the 2026 chart

The monthly layer matters most where it reinforces the annual one. For November 2026 the overlaps are:

Doubled caution: S. A difficult monthly star lands on a sector that already carries a difficult star for 2026. Tradition reads this as the year's most cautious window for that part of the home, and postpones renovation and ground-breaking there until the month turns.

No doubled support this month. The favorable monthly stars fall on sectors that are neutral for the year, so tradition treats their benefit as mild.

Sector by sector

NW 9, Purple 9 九紫 2, Black 2 The ruling star of Period 9 (2024–2043): celebration, recognition, and current prosperity.

How this chart was derived

The first solar month of a feng shui year takes its center star from the year's Earthly Branch: 8 for Rat, Horse, Rabbit and Rooster years, 5 for Dragon, Dog, Ox and Goat, 2 for Tiger, Monkey, Snake and Pig. Each following month the center star drops by one, and the remaining stars fly forward along the Lo Shu path. 2026 opens with 8 in the center, and this is month 10 of that sequence, which puts 8 in the middle.

Every month of 2026 is listed on the monthly charts hub, and any year's annual chart can be generated with the flying star chart tool.

The flying stars are a traditional system with no scientific support. What that means, and where feng shui advice does have research behind it, is set out on our evidence page.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the Five Yellow in November 2026?

The Five Yellow (五黃) occupies the SW sector for the solar month running Nov 7 – Dec 6, 2026. Tradition treats it as the month's sector to leave undisturbed: no renovation, drilling, or loud activity, and metal objects as the customary drain. The Illness star 2 sits in the NE sector and is handled the same way.

What dates does the November 2026 flying star chart cover?

Nov 7 – Dec 6, 2026. Feng shui months run from one solar term (節) to the next rather than from the first of the Gregorian month, so this chart opens on the Start of Winter (立冬) around the 7th. Boundary dates shift by a day or so year to year.

Which sector is favorable in November 2026?

The wealth star 8 lands in the Center sector and the Purple 9, the ruling star of Period 9, sits in NW. Tradition activates such sectors with light, activity, and time spent there. None of them coincide with a favorable annual star this month, so the effect is read as ordinary rather than amplified.

Does the monthly chart replace the annual chart?

No, it layers on top of it. The annual chart is treated as the slower, stronger influence and the monthly stars as a four-week modifier. The months that matter most are those where a monthly affliction lands on a sector that is already afflicted for the year.
